The horses in our sponsorship program will be permanent residents of Wild Acres Horse Rescue Inc.
Each horse has been rescued from a treacherous fate. They come to us with injuries (some permanent), have blindness, mental trauma, physical trauma, illnesses and/or very old age. We will give them the love, care and rehabilitation that they so much deserve to keep them comfortable. We will only offer the Last Act of Kindness upon advice from our vet.
Each of these horses have given their life to humans, by working the farms, transportation, showing, racing, etc. only to be thrown away when they are no longer useful. We here at WAHR believe every horse deserves respect and kindness in their new life. They need to feel safe and loved. We offer that in abundance.
Our rescue is run solely on donations (they are tax deductible) and no one receives compensation for their work here. Each horse has their own special needs. With each horse, it will be listed what they need and the price for their care. We would like to ask you to become a sponsor and help a horse/horses live their life in peace with the love and care they desperately deserve.
Your sponsorship will include: a monthly commitment to your horse (a minimum of $25/month), planned visits, and pictures. Sponsors may not ride, however, your horse may enjoy grooming and or light ground work, and of course your companionship and love.
If you are interested in sponsorship, please reach out to us on our contact page.
Mancho Man.
When Mancho Man came to us he was very tightly wound, skinny and dull. He has come a long way and is still learning to relax. Mancho can be ornery and also sweet and loving. He will stand when being groomed and given treats. It seems he was worked until he buckled. With his knees (they get shaky when he exerts himself), and with severe arthritis, we feel his best chance for a loving retirement will be with us. He has found a friend in Jenni the donkey. Mancho is 23 now and deserves a relaxing retirement. Can you be his sponsor/s and show him the compassion and love he so desperately needs.
Mancho goes through 50 lbs of Purina Senior each week and almost 3 bales of hay. Straw for his stall are 2 – 3 bales each week. Costs needed for Mancho’s care each month equal approximately $180. Vet and farrier costs are additional. Mancho Man has been put on a pain reliever from the vet for his joints. Since he has been on this medication, Mancho has been enjoying a virtually painfree life. This medication is expensive and only lasts a month. It runs about $80. (price keeps changing as costs go up)
If you have any questions about Mancho Man, please contact us either by our contact page, email at info@wildacreshorserescue.org or call us at 734 748-9057.
