We here at Wild Acres Horse Rescue understand that circumstances will sometimes make it where an owner can no longer keep their horse. There are not many options for horse owners. Also, many owners are afraid that they will not be able to ensure their horse finds the right home. We will not turn away a horse that is in need, healthy or unhealthy or their age. NO PERSONAL QUESTIONS WILL BE ASKED.
There is no fee to surrender your horse, however, donations are always appreciated. Monetary or otherwise. We do understand if you are unable to.
Ready to Adopt?
Wanting to rescue a horse is a very courageous, generous, compassionate, life of the horse venture. We here at WAHR want to make sure you are matched with the best horse for you and/or your family. This is not a decision to take lightly.
We are not a first come, first serve rescue. We will choose which person/family is the best fit for the horse. Our Team care deeply about these horses and want only the best homes suitable for them.
Adoption of a rescue horse, is very rewarding in many ways. You get to form your personal attachment with them and they get to trust you as their person. You will see their personality change as they become comfortable and they can sometimes be pretty full of character. You will have your forever friend whenever you need someone. These reasons and more are why we are so choosy on who the horse goes home with.
